We’ve made a lot of progress since 2018. We set a record for the most Democratic votes ever in the 2020 election with almost 2,000 votes to elect Joe Biden and end the four-year nightmare caused by the prior president. The stakes remain high in 2022 and we’re going to do our part to elect all of our statewide candidates including Beto O’Rourke as governor. We’re also very excited to support Claudia Zapata for US Congress. So, we’ve set our goal for a record 2,200 Democratic votes in 2022!
How are we going to get these votes and elect Democrats? It’s simple. Let’s focus on our message, get involved, and make sure that every Democrat votes in 2022.
Our Message
Democrats are working to return common decency and common sense to government in Washington, Austin, and Blanco County. Decency demands that we defend the right of everyone to control their own bodies. Decency demands that we are protected from gun violence. Common sense demands that we expand Medicaid to increase funding to our hospitals and clinics and provide better access to healthcare for all. We need to protect the precious natural resources of the Hill Country and do our part to combat climate change to ensure a sustainable world. We’re also working for a livable minimum wage; defending the future of Social Security and Medicare; and supporting our schools, teachers, librarians, and administrators. The positive impact of just these policies will be revolutionary!

How to Prepare to Vote in November
The Republicans have attacked our voting rights and made it more complicated than it should be. By following the steps below you’ll be ready to vote in November.
Step 1: Register to vote or confirm you are registered at texasdemocrats.org/are-you-registered-to-vote. For the November 8 general election, the last day to register to vote is October 11, 2022. If you need assistance or have questions, call the TDP voter assistance hot line at 844-TX-VOTES (844-898-6837).
Step 2: If you are 65 or older, disabled, or will be out of Blanco County on election day, register to Vote by Mail in English here or in Spanish here. Or get a printed application at
Blanco County Elections Office
101 E. Cypress Street, Suite 101
Johnson City, Texas 78636
The last day to submit the application to receive a Vote by Mail ballot is October 28, 2022! Visit teamrv-mvp.sos.texas.gov/BallotTrackerApp/#/login to see if you’re registered to Vote by Mail. Texas law now requires that individuals who vote by mail include one of the following on both the application and the mail-in ballot’s carrier envelope:
• Texas Driver License number
• Texas State ID number
• Last four digits of their social security number, or
• Election ID Certificate number
There are designated locations on the application and the mail-in ballot’s carrier envelope to include one of those ID numbers. We recommend including both an ID number (either Texas Driver License, State ID number, or election ID certificate if you have neither) AND the last four digits of your SSN.
Together, we can get 2,200 votes in 2022! Let’s have some fun and elect Democrats! To help, email us at BCD@blancocountydemocrats.org.
