VOTE BY MAIL INSTRUCTIONS

If you are 65 or older, disabled, or will be out of Blanco County on Election Day, register to Vote by Mail. Here are the steps.

1) Are you registered to Vote by Mail? If not, time is running out. Submit your application today! The last day to apply for Vote by Mail is 10/28/22. Register to Vote by Mail in English here or in Spanish here. Or get a printed application at Blanco County Elections Office, 101 E. Cypress Street, Suite 101, Johnson City, Texas 78636.

2) If you have applied and have not yet received your ballot, check here to see if you’re registered for Vote by Mail. If your registration does not show, contact the Blanco County Elections office immediately.

3) If you have received your ballot, complete and submit it as soon as possible. We recommend that the ballot be submitted by 11/01/22. The last day for VBM to be accepted is on Election Day, November 8, at 7:00 PM or on the day after the election at 5:00 PM if postmarked on November 8, 2022. After you’ve mailed it, you can check the status of your ballot here.

4) When you receive your ballot, there are several documents in the envelope. Here are the steps to properly completing and submitting your ballot.

Envelope from the County

This is the envelope that you will receive from Blanco County. Below is what is contained in the envelope.

Please read carefully. 

Other Materials

Other materials including instructions in Spanish. Review and set aside. These can be recycled or trashed when you are finished.

Ballot

Use blue or black ink to complete the front and back of your ballot.  

Ballot Envelope

Place completed ballot in here. First, write your Texas Driver License Number or other type of accepted ID on the back as shown in yellow in the photo. The types of accepted IDs are stated in the instructions. We also recommend that you record the last four digits of you Social Security Number in the box provided (shown in yellow). This is a precaution in case the first form of ID cannot be read or cannot be verified.  

Seal and Sign

Seal and sign this ONLY after your ballot has been inserted AND AFTER you’ve recorded your ID number and last four digits of your Social Security Number, fold down the flap, seal it, and sign the signature block outlined in red. Your signature is required and must be signed after the flap is closed.

Carrier Envelope

After your Ballot Envelope has been sealed and signed, insert it into this Carrier Envelope. Be sure to include a stamp and mail as soon as you can!
